67 year old Leonardo DaVinci died on May 2 1519 in Amboise. Though he is buried in the Chapel of St. Hubert in Amboise, which is situated inside the area of the king's castle in Amboise, a plaque honors the Florentine here in Santa Croce celebrating the 400th year anniversary of his death in 1919.
