Tomb of Michelangelo Buonarotti. Michelangelo died at the ripe old age of 89 in 1564 leading a very long and productive life. He worked up until a few days before his death. He was entombed here in Santa Croce. Georgio Vasari, the great architect, sculptor and writer who included a biography of Michelangelo chronicled his life in "Lives of the Great Artists" conbstructed and carved this beautiful tomb.
